"Lessons" involving things that couldn't really happen in real life (like someone having powers) are always a bit weird, but I get why they exist in movies for kids. A lot of kids want things they see other characters with but can never have because nobody can... powers, for example, or me personally, I had a phase when I very sad because I would never get to ride a pegasus like Megan from My Little Pony. So at a young age, being taught that normality (which in context is really just reality) is good enough can be comforting.
