Personally, I relate more to the characters, who have no powers or special talents, and have to learn to see a worth in themselves even without those things. It resonates with me, as a person who always had an interest in art, but was told by everyone that I don't have a talent for it.

Oh man, saaame. I guess I'm just a natural born attention-lover, because I always want the characters I identify with in a narrative to be ~special~. Not in every way, but in at least one significant way. If their whole thing is that they're the normie, I'm probably going to quit in frustration.

ngl I went from interested to nope when I read that the plot is the same-old same-old "normie saves the magic people" trope. it's been done to death and I doubt this one has a twist that makes it somehow better than all the rest.

I thought Anna gained the superpower of "command men carrying pointy swords" and "absolute power of life and death over all in her sight"? Queendom is a pretty fucking rad superpower for her era. And she didn't even have to have a relative assassinated to get it.

"Lessons" involving things that couldn't really happen in real life (like someone having powers) are always a bit weird, but I get why they exist in movies for kids. A lot of kids want things they see other characters with but can never have because nobody can... powers, for example, or me personally, I had a phase when I very sad because I would never get to ride a pegasus like Megan from My Little Pony. So at a young age, being taught that normality (which in context is really just reality) is good enough can be comforting.

Whelp, I liked this movie, although it made me jealous that I don't have a big family that all lives together in an awesome house.

Speaking of powers, though, what was the point of the cousin's shapeshifting power? Just entertaining people? Seems like the strong sister did all the useful stuff and everyone else was just kind of there.

I only like it when the "non-powered" person has something else that's cool about them. Like they're good at talking to people, or know every baseball stat, or love to bake or whatever and then that skill helps them solve problems. The "you're special just for being you" thing is great for Mr. Rogers but I want my characters to have defined traits if at all possible please.

I actually love most of the line up (save Cupid's Last Wish) and am really, really hoping they make most of them!

Vice Versa looked better than I expected from the concept itself but I'm mostly thrilled by The Eclipse and would love My School President (mostly because My Beautiful Man has me craving more whipping boy BLs) but I'm not hopeful for it being made.

Also, Never Let Me Go and You Are My Favorite look fantastic. Star and Sky is just... okay?

I'm just amazed to see no engineers? NO ENGINEERS? From GMMTV, the CREATORS of the engineering trope? Be still my heart!

I’ve seen this more than any other ship in the fandom. To be fair, it’s the only ship you can pull off without either saving characters who canonically die, or dragging someone into the boring-ass canon love triangle.

Anytime I see anything related to Demi-fiend I get depressed that he didn't show up in Devil May Cry 5 like some of us were praying for years ago. DLC would have been totally fine but maaaan, just want Demi-fiend to show up announced in one of Dante's games.

But anyway, Demi-fiend is Shin Megami Tensei's bicycle: he is 100% shippable with everyone.
