I’ve seen this more than any other ship in the fandom. To be fair, it’s the only ship you can pull off without either saving characters who canonically die, or dragging someone into the boring-ass canon love triangle.

My country has the same problem and I also wondered the same as you. What if somewhere in the world there exists a book which would have become my absolute lifetime favorite, and I will never get to read it, because it's written in a language I don't speak?

Though the Witcher might not be a good example, because the books were actually translated into a number of foreign languages decades ago. The reason you haven't heard of them is more likely because the books came out in 80s/90s, around the time when dark fantasy in a similar style was very popular, so the market was oversaturated and nobody really wanted to read yet another story of this kind, especially one written by an unknown eastern european author.
