Whelp, I liked this movie, although it made me jealous that I don't have a big family that all lives together in an awesome house.

Speaking of powers, though, what was the point of the cousin's shapeshifting power? Just entertaining people? Seems like the strong sister did all the useful stuff and everyone else was just kind of there.

I liked this movie too, but I couldn't help thinking that some of the family members have terrible powers. Like Dolores. Being able to hear everybody and every thing sounds like a nightmare. Pepa's powers didn't look like much fun either.

Luisa and Julieta seemed like the only ones with useful powers. You would think Pepa could make the valley always have nice weather and help the crops grow but she isn't portrayed as having enough control and her weather powers are played for laughs. Isabella could also also help with crops and kitchen gardens and the timber supply but just makes flowers. Shapeshifting and talking to animals is cool but not that useful for the rest of the town. Dolores and Bruno just seem cursed. Abuela didn't even have powers?

Except for the first two, everyone's powers came off as useless or underutilized.

Babysitting little kiddos so their exhausted parents can catch a break?

Most of the members of the family could do that with their powers. And like anon above me said, you don’t need powers to be a babysitter.

So it’s not like he couldn’t use his shapeshifter powers for that, but it still doesn’t make him more useful than the rest of the family in most situations.
