Anytime I see anything related to Demi-fiend I get depressed that he didn't show up in Devil May Cry 5 like some of us were praying for years ago. DLC would have been totally fine but maaaan, just want Demi-fiend to show up announced in one of Dante's games.

But anyway, Demi-fiend is Shin Megami Tensei's bicycle: he is 100% shippable with everyone.

True, I shipped him with Raidou for obvious reason, but Demi-Fiend is just so good with everyone, lore-wise, Dante included. It always amused me to find Demi-Fiend appearing randomly in some recent DMC fanarts. And at some point I even had him shipped with the DeSu 1’s protagonist as a crack ship in my head.

As for the original secret OP; I’m sorry to hear that Isamu/Demi-Fiend isn’t that popular—-to be fair I think non-protagonist characters across all mainline titles are simply just not as popular in fancontent.

That’s unfortunately true that non-protagonist characters aren’t as popular than others when it comes to MegaTen. I remember being frustrated in the heydays of both Persona 4 and Devil Survivor that it was harder to find good content that didn’t include the player character protags for those games, who I found infinitely less interesting than the side characters. Which is understandable considering they’re player proxies. But a lot of people adore them regardless, and ships involving them are dominant. Which is fine, and I’m fond of some ships involving them. But it was still irritating when it came to finding fic and art of all my ships that didn’t involve them at all.

Luckily, I find the player character protagonists a lot more interesting and shippable in every other MegaTen game, especially all the other Persona games(Tatsuya and P5 Protag especially), Strange Journey, and SMT IV and V.

But I feel OP’s pain deeply. Especially because I like Isamu too, and think he has so much potential for fic. It’s crazy how underrated he is!
