I have no idea what this is, but the way you describe it is selling it for me.

But just how bad is the scary bad man? Dark ship dynamics aren't my scene, so ships like this, for me, really depend on whether the "bad guy" is bad through and through, or whether it's just complicated. Can he be protective of the traumatized bb spy in a loving way, or only in a doesn't-like-people-touching-his-things way?

I mean, he's an assassin so he's probably killed a lot of people lol. He also used to know (work with?) Alex's dad I think. I haven't finished all the books yet and the show hasn't mentioned it, but I've seen it mentioned in fics.

I've read all the books, watched the movie, watched season one and am about to start watching season two. I'm all the way there for this ship, I even made a secret about then here on the comm some years ago! Check out the fandom, there's some quality fanfic out there.

The books make it seem like he had a huge crush on Alex' dad, and he goes to some lengths to protect Alex, too. As scary as the scary bad man is, Alex is a huge soft spot for him.
