I think more people agree with you than you think! I assume Orpheus is deliberately written that way - as a self-aggrandizing "artiste" who ignores his girlfriend's pleas and spends a significant portion of the show singing empty vocalisations until the point he fucks it up for Eurydice forever. He's definitely not the sympathetic one of the two. I was listening to a podcast where the character of Roger from Rent (an equally useless deliberately starving artist-type character) was continually referred to as Reeve Carney (Orpheus's originating performer on Broadway) and it made me laugh so hard.

You are maybe right! Everyone around me are just being - oh, it's so sad, so tragic, I was ~crying~. Also it was recommended to me as something to my tastes character wise. And I am????? Why?

Also I don't like treatment of Eurydice by the plot. All the "you shoudn't judge her for her wrong choice". Choice between dying and not is not a choice. Anyway.

Ah, this is funny! Reeve is such a type, at least judging by looks
