I'm glad I'm not the only one! And yeah, I know he's not meant to be taken seriously, and I don't think he's a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CHARACTER AND ANYONE WHO LIKES HIM IS HORRIBLE, but that kind of attitude towards women is one that turns me off of a character pretty thoroughly, you know?

I know! Everyone of my friends was raving about how cool he was and how much I'd like him, and then... he was just this patronizing hypocritical douchebag.

SRSLY I HATED HIM SO MUCH I SPUTTERED AT THIS and took a picture. Yes. I know Franziska is impossible and horrendous to deal with, but ugh him saying that sealed the deal for me hating him so badly. I am so sad because though his devotion to Mia is nice, I wanted Mia to have someone better than him. :\

Yeah, that line is probably the worst. And yes, I can understand him (or anyone else) not liking Franziska, but he didn't have to be all "go back to the kitchen, lawyering is a man's job" about it.

I find I can't really ship him with Mia, either, because... he's a tool. And I think Mia deserves someone who doesn't see her as some helpless fragile thing. (Oh man, I really am taking this too seriously. :/)

Haha yeaaah. And then he was all 'you're supposed to protect Maya YOU FAIL BE A MAN' and then he's a complete hypocrite about it. And then Franziska, someone who can take care of herself quite obviously, doesn't deserve his respect. Ugh.

sdf'sjdds No it's fine, I really took this way too seriously as well. I had such a hard time getting through this game because he was in it. Some things, no matter how silly, you just can't help but get offended at (your mileage may vary and all that). I don't really know why it bothers me so much apart from the fandom never really saying Godot is a dick and just fangirl him a lot.

Yeah, it really is a personal thing, I guess -- even if it's a bit silly, some things just rub you the wrong way. A lot of people here have been saying that they realize Godot's a dick, but fangirl him anyway, and I get that -- I mean, my favorite characters aren't paragons of virtue themselves; it's just that the flaws that they happen to have aren't the ones that particularly get on my nerves. That being said, I do feel like the fandom really glosses over that aspect of his character, so... uh. TL;DR I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU?

WHOO \o/ Yeah it's a matter of whether you like him so much that you can tolerate that or not, I guess? As long as they realize Godot's a douchebag. And I know, my favourite characters aren't pristine either, so really, your mileage may vary and all that xD

That being said, Godot does have this awesome theme >: ♥

Yeah, his theme music is probably the best (new) piece in the third game. At least, it's the only one that particularly stood out to me. So that should count for something! ... I'm not sure what, but something.

If you look at the stuff that goes on in her head and think about if from a psychoanalytic view, Madotsuki can definitely be given some aspects of personality. The game may not spell it out for you, and there's a lot of room for personal interpretation, but there are definite ways to interpret the character.

And given how I see her... I kinda worry about this person.

Are there? Please tell me which ones you are thinking about - especially in the context of edgy, ~kinky~ sex.

Obviously, your focus is more on the second definition, but it's used in less severe contexts as well - which also get carried over to the bedroom. Words change & evolve.

So in fandom the word has come to mean "vaguely kinky sex" or "not wanting to have any responsibility" or "being penetrated during anal sex"? That does not mean that the "meaning has changed". It just shows people have no clue what it means.

Also, if people say, "I love kinky sex! I love being cared for, being told what to do when I don't know what to do myself, it makes me feel so secure, and I love being tied up! I have a really strong submissive side!" - Do you really believe they do NOT mean the BDSM-term?

Also:
