I'm not personally invested in the difference between 20 and 30, but I've met many people in fandom recently who are, loudly and often.

I have two separate accounts to interact with 18+ blogs and with general audience blogs, but it's becoming harder when some people have descriptions that their blog is for "18-25, older people DNI". Or not even a description, but a link to their carrd, that I don't even feel like I should be expected to browse before liking their NSFW furry art, because they seem to be under the impression that only people within their dating range should be allowed to enjoy their smut. I've also seen people loudly complaining that putting 18+ in the description is catfishing, because they're comfortable interacting with 21 year olds but not with 31 year olds, so it's not specific enough. I don't know about you, but I find that behavior annoying and hypocritical.

I don't have any fucks to give about the difference between 20s and 30s, because I'm over 50 and still in fandom and writing sexy fic. Mostly about characters who are between 30 and 60.

I really don't care about teenagers' opinions of any of this.

SA

The 18+ logo in my bio on twitter tells everyone I'll block any minor who tries to follow me. I do that, if I notice it. It's not that hard, just block them. I expressed a boundary, they crossed it, I click a button to make them go away. It doesn't actually harm them. They won't be harmed by being unable to see my retweets of Sherlock memes, and I won't be harmed by missing out on the "insights" of entitled teenagers.

That's great for you, but what will you do when someone doxxes you and sends you death threats because you're over 50 and interacted with that vulnerable 25 year old minor, who would have never consented to interacting with their blog if they knew your "real" age, because your "18+" led them to believe you're closer to 19? Because I've seen it happen.

That's why I block minors. And I also have "Gen X" in my bio, so I have never pretended to be young.
