(Anonymous) 2021-12-22 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)I remember people getting all bent out of shape over the recent "Twilight Zone" revival that was on CBS' streaming site recently, because they were complaining that it was "too political" and "too woke" and so on...
...and all I could think was, "Did you people ever see the original 'Twilight Zone', like, at all?" Serling would be called an SJW in some corners if he were around today.
It'd be one thing, even, if people's issue was more with HOW shows like that address some of the social and political issues they tackle, because there can be room for critique there. But to get upset about the show having a political bent, period, or simply being socially conscious in and of itself, is hilariously strange, and, in my experience, tends to reveal a lot about the people making those kinds of complaints.
