Wrong place, but I'll play.

Patrick Stewart/Hugh Jackman X-men movies are top tier. They take a lot of liberties, particularly with Wolverine, but they capture the spirit of the characters while doing so.

Worst adaptation, the Tim Burton version of Planet of the Apes. It was... not great at all.

Good Retcon: Darth Vader turning out to be Luke's dad. That was a retcon, and Lucas knows it. It was a retcon that enhanced the character interactions, and only needed a little bit of massaging to fit.

Bad Retcon: Everything about DC's Nu52 revamp. It was just a bubbling cauldron of awfulness.

The only thing I liked about the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes was the monkey special effects looked good.

yeah all the familial retcons in OG Stars Wars really enhance the story I agree.
