Jurassic Park is my favorite adaptation. I like the book, but the movie is way better.

The Jekyll and Hyde musical is great. I don't usually like when adaptations add love interests, but this case was worth it for the awesome songs.

I don't watch movie adaptations of my favorite comic books. I just don't think it's the right format because the best stories work because of the build-up and movies just don't have the time to properly develop them.

I love the Jurassic Park movie better than the book, too, and I liked the boom and read it before they even filmed the movie. It's funny because when I heard years later that they had switched the ages (and interests) of the kids for the movie, I thought "What? No they didnt!" only to go back to the book to check and see that yep, Lex was the younger one and Tim was the older one. When reading, I had totally imagined Lex as the older sibling and somehow managed to ignore the references to it being the other way. So, the movie actually changed that part to fit my expectations!

I don't think I've ever read the book, but Crichton co-wrote the screenplay for Jurassic Park, iirc, so it's this close to being a good retcon for me, lol.
