Then maybe they should just read one of the hundreds of female led CN novels because they exist (and are actually more numerous than BL).

Do those novels have stories that are essentially the same as the ones with guys and the only difference is the characters' gender? Because that kinda matters too. This reminds me of "if you want queer characters stop complaining and look at all this queer indie stuff!" but I don't want ~indie~, I want fun mainstream Marvel/Star Wars-y trash where the main characters are queer.

I mean, yeah? There are tons of novels with f/m (or to a lesser degree but still numerous f/f) ships that are female lead and have the same genres and tropes as BL novels, just depends which genre you prefer. But if it's, like, cultivation novels for example, there are a lot out there. Historical ones tends to center more around court intrigue but that's the case with a lot of historical BL as well. I couldn't give you any recs because I don't read them, but if you went to look on novelupdates, you'd definitely find something.

But are the girls anything other than The Love Interest who the guy does most of the stuff for? Because usually the woman ends up repeatedly saved by the guy.
