Hard disagree with both.

But I am curious as to why you think the Fire Nation winning the war would make for a more interesting story? First off, they had already won it for all intents and purposes since the beginning of the series, and remained in control for the majority of it. It was only by Aang starting his journey to properly serve as the Avatar that the tides were turned against the Fire Nation. Although they still remained a powerful nation in the end, just a more peaceful one under Fire Lord Zuko(albeit with Ozai loyalists making it less peaceful on the inside). So by “the Fire Nation winning the war”, do you mean Ozai succeeding in his genocide plot? Because yeah, that would have been too dark for a kid’s show. And I don’t get why a bleak downer ending like that would be more interesting than the one we got, personally. But maybe you meant something else.
