Also? My friend and I just spent the last two nights constructing our own personal post-sunset canon for them. As far as we're concerned, that's perfect. You are so very much not alone.

Hee, omg, seriously, how long have you got? (Epic. Ending.)

VERY long story short, they are together a few years, then they split up mutually (to do with Craig being in the working world and JP still at Uni and wanting different things and stuff) and manage to stay best mates and end up moving to London together for various reasons. Craig dates a few girls, nothing serious. JP ends up living with a guy - they have a cat. (told you. Epic.) ANYWAY. It's all going fine until Craig starts seeing another guy (and there's a WHOLE thing about that) at which point JP is Not Happy and can't work out where that's coming from. Stuff happens, the end result of which is that JP kisses Craig and they get back together. This time, with a whole bunch of life experience under their belts. And they live happily ever after. And that, is the very, very bare bones of that. (It took us about, um, maybe four or five hours of discussion, so you can imagine how much is left out.)

I've managed to drag a good handful of people with me into my flail and squee. It's been fantastic. :D

1. I'm one of those fluff-monsters who believes they'll never break up or anything, although I do think they'll have sometimes where they take little ones from eachother to get life experiences, like you said. I mean, "settling down" at 19? :O

2. Craig starts seeing another GUY. Bu.. but but... Who is this guy?

Yeah, settling down at 19, though not unheard of, just highly unlikely to work. Which is why the break up. Although it's like they're always still together, just without the sex for a few years (heh, see, old married couple!).

The other guy, well, that's a story in itself. He's someone Craig works with and is kind of dating almost before he realises it. He's not really expecting to have feelings for a guy. And it's because it's a guy that JP gets so freaked because, you know, he was the Only One. He was Special, and now here's this other guy...

Stuff happens does cover everything. We mean to get the whole Epic Ending written down at some point, just as a record of our thoughts if not as a proper fic. Too much thought went into it to let it float away.

Friend away! My lj is currently 90% JP & Craig-related flail. The more, the merrier.

We spent AGES discussing this. At first, we said he should be engaged to another girl but then we realised, no, it should be a guy because a) it would freak JP out, b) I Just Love You isn't really satisfactory in terms of sexuality and c) if anything, it makes JP more special, because now Craig could potentially choose ANYONE and it still comes back to JP.

I would be gutted beyond measure if they ever split up again, even for a little bit, especially after they already had that year apart to grow and change and figure out what they want. But nonetheless I WANT TO READ THAT FIC! You are writing that fic, yes? Please tell me you are writing that fic!

Have you been to McDean Fans and Fantasy Hollyoaks?

They're still babies, though! Figuring out what you want at 19/20 and 24/25 are two incredibly different things. As long as they end up together FOREVER, I'm good. :)

Yay, I'm so happy you like our ideas! We don't know if it will be a fic yet. It's going to be written in some form just so we have a record of it, so it could be a fic. Who knows?

I have been to McDean fans, yes, but not to the forums. I'm not so much a forum person. Apart from research, my McDean flail is pretty much limited to my flist. Microfandom!

I know they’re young but after everything they’ve been through to get to this point I can’t imagine them splitting up. They spent a year apart, they both tried to move on, they both had other relationships, but they ended up coming back to each other. JP was with an openly gay man who worshipped him and gave up everything for him (like we were allowed to forget...). He found the 'more' he said he deserved when he left Craig at the airport. But it still wasn't enough because it wasn't [i]Craig[/i].

I don’t think they’ll be ‘settling down’ as such yet anyway, not least because JP's just come out of a disastrous engagement that he knew he was too young for. Craig mentioned having housemates so I reckon they’ll be in a student-y shared house for the next few years, together and madly in love but not at the stage of getting a mortgage/joint account/scary adult stuff that they’re way too young for. They’ll be happy and carefree for a few years yet!

It sounds like it'd make an awesome story though so I'd love to read the fic if you ever write it. Have you ever been to FH? It's the best place for HO fic!

And MDF is awesome! It's been built by a group of the core Sunset Ending campaigners from Digital Spy and it's only been open for about a month but it's already taken over my life!

Well, you're honestly not missing out on much by not being a member of the forums (except for Fantasy Hollyoaks; there's a lot of, shall we say, average fics over there, but there is also quite a lot of good fics too)!

McDean Fans however - so much love! The music player has every McDean song on it, and guh, it makes me squee like mad. :D

It's INCREDIBLE how much there is to discuss and discover about those boys! Still to this day, after having been a McDeaner for more than six months (time flies, I can barely remember what my life was like before McDean!) I keep finding new things to love about them all the time. I've never loved a pairing this much, and [Unknown site tag] and I have agreed that after this, we'll never have another OTP. This is THE ultimate OTP, period.
