Everyone in fandom is entitled. We all expect there to be an audience for the type of fanworks we create, and we all want other people to create the kind of fanworks we want.

Yes, it's tacky and rude that the OP is willing to ignore the fact that other people are feeling discriminated against, but racefail has gone on for a while now, and we're all at the point that we're sort of sick of it. If this type of meta is here to stay, then people are going to get used to it being so prevalent now. Adaptation isn't always easy, you know?

I agree with most of what you said, but I think it's not just the OP that's too entitled.

No-one is entitled to attention. But what you pay attention to is your own choice. I've been following the racefail thing for a while, and I have yet to see it injected into a porn scene. And I read a LOT of porn.

If you don't want to read about it, no one's forcing you. So why do you care that some people are still talking about it?

Because fandom isn't at any way at all part of real life, and therefore fandom oppression is clearly not an aspect of oppression which goes on in face-to-face life.
