You're not alone, is all I can say. Also, you're the first Internet person I've seen who shares my kissing squick.

Yeah, those secrets are dumb. It'd be like if I made a secret saying sexuals can't actually be that into this stuff.

I have to say, I find monosexuals claiming asexuals don't exist to be bizarre in the extreme. I mean, they already deny any sort of sexualoving connection to half the human race already, and they can't imagine what it might be like to feel that way about everyone? :-/

I feel a certain siblinghood with bisexuals sometimes - they get just as much crap from the other direction. There's a certain symmetry between the "either" and "neither" ticky boxes.

Yup. My brother currently identifies as a heteroromantic asexual (he's still fairly young, so there's a possibility he just hasn't settled into his sexual identity yet, but so far he's pretty sure), and I'm bi (it's more complex than that, but it boils down to bisexual), and neither of us can tell our very conservative parents. They just wouldn't understand, either way.

I hadn't thought of it that way before. You're right.
