104. + 122. - Wow. Two secrets about the badness of that Avatar fancomic. There's a lot of fan work out there that isn't good, it's kinda sad to see one specific thing get a TON of bashing. It's like when out of all the cars driving fast, someone has to be the one to get a speeding ticket.
144. - Romeo and Juliet. Ick. Why did that have to be the "classic" love story?

I just hate the fact that they've crucified this girl for no real reason other than she's a 'bad' (and that's arguable) fancomic writer. She got the hate focus fired on her because it was popular. FFS they sent the disgusting hordes of /co/ against her, and that's not fair.

as if they needed more reason to hate Zutara anyway

Well, my theory is just that there's SO MUCH BAD. There's so much that can be harped on. Once you're done complaining about the horrible grammar, you can go on to complain about all the OOC.

I think Avatar fandom has had a rather nasty case of silicate vaginosis lately. Between the comic and the movie, I think everyone is overreacting to it all.

Personally, I read the comic just for the lulz. Something this fandom DESPERATELY needs these days.

Really...if the characters weren't mangled, if she had the slightest clue about the source material, and if she had drawn her own characters instead of tracing, no one would be upset. It needs to be called out, at least just because of the blatant tracing.

And some people really are giving her honest critque. And she can't handle it.

Did you know A Midsummer Night's Dream was written at the exact same time (and it has been speculated) making fun of it?

If it weren't such a sad story in the end, it probably would have been a really funny parody.

I know that Romeo was probably meant to be poking fun at Petrarch and the way he frequently used conceits in his poems about love.

I saw Romeo and Juliet performed on stage and just could not understand how I was supposed to take him seriously.
