... How the hell am I supposed to know what damnei is I am not into it? And it does not supprise me, it annoys me, I find uncanny valley ugly

That’s a fair point. I have no strong feelings for danmei one way or another, nor do I know Chinese. So not only did I not know what danmei meant for that latter reason, but my lack of strong feelings for the genre made it so I never thought to Google the meaning. AYRT basically saying to you “this word means this in a foreign language, which I’m assuming you knew, so why are you surprised it has this thing it means?” is a bit silly.

Having said all that, I am still grateful to AYRT for being the reason I know what danmei means now. And it does make all the beautiful people that make up danmei make sense to me know, knowing the word’s meaning.

It is still a bit weird and uncomfortable that all (as far as I know) cmedia uses this overfiltered look.
Damnei makes sense a bit now but not my thing at all. I have mostly too much exposure problem though
