What do you mean by a "big one?" If you want something akin to the Year Without a Summer, those just don't happen often enough that every lifetime/generation/civilization/historical era gets one.

As long as either happens in an uninhabited area far enough away that no one loses their home or dies and entire species don't go extinct or lose their habitat, it would be cool to see, but idk if anywhere on Earth is remote enough that a Krakatoa level eruption wouldn't kill or seriously injure people or ecosystems.
