Ever After is my absolute favorite, but the most recent live action Disney one is a close second favorite.

...You know it's only just now occurred to me that I may have only ever seen the Disney version, and only once or twice when I was a kid. I feel like I must have seen some other variations or at least send-ups, but I can't think of a single one.

The classic 1950 Disney version is my favorite version.

It was my favorite Disney movie as a kid, one of the first movies I ever remember watching. Even as an adult the good parts of the movie are really good that I can overlook the subplots that don't interest me much. The animation is stunning, I love the feel of capturing love when Cinderella meets the Prince. It's so short but everything is done so well and fine tuned to fill my romantic heart with everything I want love about that instant magical moment of falling in love in a fairy tale.
Also, Cinderella's dress transformation in this film is the iconic Cinderella moment that no other adaptation has been able to compare to. Probably my favorite animation of all time! Cinderella's ballgown and whole look in this version is my favorite version (though there are so many stunning versions!!! but again, I can't get over the classic).

My favorite book based on the Cinderella tale is "Bound" by Donna Jo Napoli. I love the way the author set the tale in ancient China. The story was simple but effective with the world building and stayed true to the spirit and lesson of our modern relationship with the tale.

I love the Disney cartoon so much, and I related to it so hard as a young adult trying to join the workforce in the 2010's. Just give me a shot!

Honestly, I haven't seen/watched/read one I didn't like.

So this is weird, but my favorite might be A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song. Might be the music fan in me, even though the songs are kind of cheesy BUT I DON'T CARE.

Disney cartoon, the Disney cartoon sequels (they and Aladdin are the only good sequels I will defend them all day) Ella Enchanted (book's great, movie's ok), the version with Brandy, I could have sworn Vivian Vande Velde had a version but now I can't find it.

Weirdly enough I LOVE Ever After but it's in my brain as [Costumed Period RomCom] not [Fairy Tale].
