I think that doesn't really work with the movie themes. It's pretty important that her name be Mirabel.

Maybe OP of the comment doesn't know any Spanish? I mean, I'm the ultimate gringa and know maybe 50 words but I can see why Mirabel makes sense in the movie context and Maribel doesn't.

The movie tries to translate the name for the audience without making it plain, but it's definitely easy to miss, so that's a possibility.
