Sick and tired of people assuming romance tropes/cliches and ship dynamics that people like are indicative of what sort of relationship they aspire to or how they see real life people. If someone said they really like stories about knights slaying dragons we wouldn't hark on about how that's unrealistic and damaging. Even if we didn't agree we'd just get that it happens to be a type of story or way of telling a story this person likes. Why are people so fixated on this and make judgements on others based on it?

Agreed. In fiction, I'm super into romances where one party is a jerk with a heart of gold. I can't stand any jerky behavior in real life and would never want to date anyone who was jerky in the slightest.
