It's true that to a certain degree erotica is supposed to be unrealistic. Just like how epic fight scenes that are super enjoyable aren't really realistic. Sometimes realism rather than making things grounded and the author come across as knowledgeable is just...boring. The point of story telling isn't to be realistic but to be believable even if that believe-ability is as tenuous as the reader going, alright, I'll play along with that.

But I take especial liberties when it comes to things like A/B/O, fantasy races, monsters, settings with magic, etc.

Regular old human sex is fun when you're the one partaking but not always all that exciting or interesting when observing as a third party. And, like, it's PORN you're writing PORN have FUN with it!

AYRT

Thiiiiiiis.

When I read smut, I'm prepared to willingly engage in a suspension of disbelief. The only justification required for lack of realism is that the smut be hot enough to sustain it and reward it.

Realism is just not the most important virtue for a lot of genres. After a certain point, insisting on realism in OTT porn is like taking a reality-based critique to cartoon violence played for laughs. "Well, the creators of this cartoon clearly have never worked with real dynamite and have no idea what would happen to a real coyote's body under these conditions."

I mean, TRUE, but also completely irrelevant.
