I can't believe I'm saying this considering how much I am not a fan of the Watchmen in general, but... that's Rorschach, not the Comedian.

Unless I'm misinterpreting the secret.

No, you're misunderstanding what I was saying. What I meant in more words:

Yes, the comics fandom worships Rorschach, but it seems to me that the movie fandom instead worships Comedian mostly because of JDM being Dean and Sam's daddy on SPN. And I was surprised, as I thought movie fandom would be all over Rorschach like white on rice, in some repeat of the TDN Joker frenzy.

Yeah - SPN fans are very, very loyal, and tend to flock. (Except for me, I guess. I'll be waiting for the movie on Netflix.)

That depends on what you mean by "fandom." After the movie came out, I noticed 10,000 new fanfics and fanart pieces pop up, and they were 98% Rorschach (along with way too many Rorschach Mary Sues). The main lj communities seem pretty Rorschach centric too. It's actually kind of obnoxious. Not to mention the fact that critics and the general public ONLY liked Rorschach about the movie.

The only place I noticed a lot of Comedian love was ontd (which is too bad, since JDM did a great job) and if anything, the character that got a new fanbase from the movie was Ozymandias. I guess it just depends on where you go. I'd say that Rorschach is still insanely/annoyingly popular.
