I forgot to mention,

if you don't have a therapist, a typical route is to talk to your GP/main doctor about it and ask for a referral. Which is silly because, like, GPs don't specialize in cognitive or mental health. Don't be afraid to push. Your GP is NOT a specialist in this field, so even if they're like "eh, I don't think you have it" that is not for them to diagnose.

If you're not from the US and are thinking "but wait if you have to get a referral for insurance coverage and the easiest way is through your GP doesn't that mean that if your GP refuses you get stuck, even if temporarily? Which is a double whammy if you do have ADHD which deals a lot with executive dysfunction?" Yup. That's the USA.
