The beard certainly helps but there's just something about BlackAdder's dashing attitude that series in particular...

The whole makeup and costuming of this instalment of the franchise was really on point. They nailed every character's look.

My clearest memory of this show is one of the closing songs with someone singing falsetto about how falling in love with boys was weird, especially boys without a jingle. Somehow I don't think that would go over very well now.

The show was fun, though!

Though he was hot also in Blackadder Goes Forth to me. (Not as hot as in the Elizabethan series). Agreed, I've never found him hot anywhere else.

While my favorite is the third, the one with idiot Prince George, Rowan himself was disturbingly hot in the second one. The sheer difference in styling and attitude from the first series was amazing.

Hooooo boy yes. I completely agree anon. Second hottest is definitely the Fourth One.

I've had a personal theory for years that most humans meet a beauty standard just some of us from a bygone era. It always made me laugh/a little sad for Rowan Atkinson that Elizabethan dress never came back! I guess at least beards have?

Well unkempt hillbilly beards have. Sadly. Neatly trimmed beards that frame the face beautifully, have struggled. I really hate those horrible straggly, scraggly, unkempt hillbilly beards that so many guys have right now. They are gross.

I agree, all other Rowan Atkinson roles (especiallyBean) remind me of my Dad though. One of his wife’s nicknames for him is even “Mr. Bean”
