Don't worry. Their relationship is the staple behind the movie.

Doubt it, I don't know what the beginning of their friendship is supposed to be from canon Trek - but this movie, in no way, glosses over the beginning of their friendship and how they come to be the men and the friends they are later.

In fact, it's kind of a pivotal part of the movie. I don't think you should be disappointed.

So... are you saying you've seen it?

I saw a screening a few months ago, before the final cut. Though I know one of the head editors, and I know what the final cut is (sadly, no screenings since the one I went to, they're being massively hush hush about the whole thing, it's crazy - but JJ is the king of secrets, so no surprise).

Have to say, it's an awesome movie. Like I said, I'm not a Treker, but as a huge sci-fi buff - in love with this movie.

This is the secret poster, here. Thanks for going out on a limb and relaying these details... I'm very grateful! (I think I read in an EW article that Chris Pine was cast partially because of his chemistry with Quinto. Can you see that spark between them in their scenes?)

Abrams has made a point of saying that the movie partially revolves around it.
