Had never heard of this, but did a double take at this art style because it reminded me heavily of a manga I really like.

It's the same artist(s)! I wonder if this is related to Kuro at all - same theme of shadows, same moé little girl as the protagonist shtick... I'm definitely curious, though I have a hunch I'll still prefer Kuro anyway because of the titular character. Hard to beat a black cat with a hagfish-like ring of teeth.

They take place in the same world.

I have no idea what this is, but if I ignore all the specifics that could potentially make me feel otherwise, then yeah, I definitely feel like slashy human/shadow doppelganger ships are WAY more interesting than another Obligatory Het Ship (now with bonus het shadows!).

you should really just read it instead of checking in and assuming you know what's happening; there aren't any canon romantic relationships in this manga yet

I heard of this manga but don't read it, so maybe it's not like that but I feel like "no ship is canon yet" doesn't mean that you can't see where it's going.
Like, Ran/Shinichi also wasn't canon for a loooong time in Detective Conan and yet everyone could tell this was where it was going.
