Tangent but, yes, it's short for Ginevra but I thought it was just Ginny up until Ginevra was confirmed and it pissed me off when people told me I was wrong and her name had to be Virginia because nobody had Ginny as a full name. I literally knew a Ginny whose full name was Ginny, and a Tori who was not short for Victoria, who got people like you telling them they were wrong about their OWN NAMES, IRL. Take that bitches, you were wrong. I mean, so was I about Ginny Weasley, but you still don't get to have your Virginia.

Do you have anger issues?

Rude. There is no good reason to ask AYRT that. It can be very frustrating when people act like you’re wrong when you’re not, especially if they have no reason to be so sure they’re right. And people can be very patronizing when they’re correcting you over something even if they have no clue what they’re talking about. And that makes the vindication when it turns out they were the ones who were wrong even better.
