I wonder what would happen if there was a canon M/M ship where both of them were white and canonically gay, and someone shipped one of them with a nonwhite female character. Interracial het ships beat whitecock ships in the Wokeness Olympics when neither ship is canon, or if one ship is canon, in which case it's always the interracial het one (because, surprise, guess what's still actually less controversial in the mainstream?) But is it okay to headcanon a canon gay white guy into being bi so he can be with a WOC? It would cause a right paradox.

NAYRT How? Accurate as far as I can see regarding the rarer pairings in media. Also accurate as to the kind of thing the people who will ruin real lives over fic couldn't get their teeny tiny brains around.

People who will ruin lives over fic seem to do so at the drop of a hat for the stupidest reasons, I’m not disagreeing with that. But all this stuff about the “Wokeness Olympics” was just a bit of an extra way of putting it, hence me saying it was interesting and not completely wrong. It was really over the top.

And “interracial het ships beating out whitecock ships” is something I personally haven’t seen much of, especially because the people who will freak out and send death threats for “straightwashing” in a simple fanfic honestly don’t seem like they would change their minds if it was an interracial het ship, because their tiny crazy brains think too generally to allow exceptions when they think something is “evil”. Regardless of how much they may or may not be for interracial relationships in fic(and harass others over them as well).
