Yes, exactly. It's really bumming me out. I haven't delved into the receipts or anything, I just saw the statement from Tom Scott. And I really like her stuff, I thought she had great takes on analyzing combat as a story-telling tool rather than the HEMA/realism approach that seems popular these days. Plus generally thoughtful things to say about various tropes and stories.

So...I don't know. Probably still watching her videos, just feeling vaguely uncomfortable while doing so? I guess I'll see.

NAYRT I started suspecting when she did that comparison video, and she used some rather dubious statistics to exaggerate the two extremes and minimised overlap. At the time I put it down to cluelessness, but now I'm side=eying is as an attempt at mendacity.
