Tidbit-- I once started writing a fic about single dad Captain America and it was so good. Lol I never finished it, but seeing your rec list, I thought you might appreciate it.

Sometimes I'm really in the mood for fics like that!! But I'll be honest, I don't have a good relationship with my father so I play act scenarios in my head where certain father figure roles I have are being good fathers. Fics are a way I do that. But also, it is just nice to see depictions of good fathers.

Aw, sorry about your relationship with your dad :/ but fic is definitely a nice place to explore what a good one looks like, the kind of father you wish you had, or would like in your life in some way, all that.

I really love seeing guys being good father's and genuinely caring for their kids/being loving. It's so sweet and I think it's always portrayed as something "Zomg is he being a good and responsible father?!" instead of...anyway. it's just really nice to see, and I know a there's a lot of people don't have that in their lives or have difficult relationships with their families so this is a sweet reprieve.

ugh me too! I mean I kind of like all the guys being dads, but I have a soft spot for the tough guy who's usually a hard ass being all soft when raising his kid lol. Some dudes you know are going to be soft and good dads, but the ones you don't expect it from just warm my heart!

One of my favorite fics is one where the two "dads" involved have a threesome with a woman and she, sadly, dies when she has a four-year-old and she'd never contacted them before that so it's a surprise. They do end up together in the story and obviously raise the kid.

Lisa was dope! Out of all the women Dean got with, she and Cassie (season 1) were my favorites! I think in part because both were willing to leave him/not out up with his nonsense even if they really loved/cared for him. While I wasn't Destiel shipper myself (more of a ship and let ship) I do love Cas and that feathered sweetheart really did love him. It's like Three Men and a Baby (not actually, but this secret is making me think of that movie lol).

I've written a few myself and it's fun to write. The Accidental Baby Acquistion tag is pretty good one for this.
