Good on you OP! Your efforts are worth recognizing. Being good at something doesn't come easy, so one should celebrate the successes they've achieved as well as recognize the improvements they've made. And it's GOOD to be proud of the work you create! So long as there is no punching down on others we're allowed some narcissism. Again, improvement is good and it's good to recognize it.

It's hard to want to speak frankly about how proud you are of the work and time committed to honing your skills and craft paying off when most people around you are addled with anxieties that are the complete opposite. But a little narcissism helps you want to do better, and I think so many writers are always wanting to improve. Recognize the improvement, be proud! You worked hard on it.

Like someone else wrote upthread, I've never worked nearly as hard or intentionally to improve my writing, but I am proud of the stories I've written and I understand the pride in having improved your craft through the years. Keep writing, OP!
