NFTs are hated because they're a grifter scheme that preys on people not fully understanding it and being willing to dump all their money into something that sounds cool despite not understanding it (and the environmental impact, yikes). Adoptables, on the other hand, are JUST "limited time art pieces" and that's it, there's nothing deeper or more complicated that could possibly make anyone hate them more than them being annoying if they were mainstream.

Yes. And they wouldn't be so hated if they weren't in the mainstream while doing all that.

Yes, obviously if fewer people knew they existed fewer people would hate them. But I kind of doubt quite as many people would hate adoptables if those were mainstream, because they don't come with all the extra baggage.

This.

AYRT’s “if adoptables were more popular, they’d be just as hated” argument doesn’t hold up, because NFTs being everywhere might be annoying, but their ubiquity in the mainstream is the last thing on anyone’s mind when they complain about them. It literally does just basically come down to one being horrible for the environment, and one not doing anything to the environment. It’s not always about “it’s popular so it sucks” with people.
