Just commissioned a fic and feel that way EVERY TIME. This is why I wait on AO3 for fic to update a few times, download it start it from the top, and maybe by the time I'm done there's an additional update, and I'm pleased (and then wait three months again lol)

Lol I know this feeling all too well, but when I’m writing a fic, I still end up posting only a chapter a day, even when I have the whole thing finished.

Lmao not really. Authors are free to post as/when they like. Do you use a regular posting schedule? I could only ever do that if I had a complete finished fic. Otherwise it's whenever I get shit done lol

Yup! I post every day in the morning. If the morning chapter ends on a cliffhanger, I post the next part in the afternoon. I did write a multi-chapter fic that I posted all in one day just to see what would happen, but it got less engagement than the fics that had chapters posted once per day. I have a history of leaving fics unfinished, so now I don’t post anything unless it’s done (which kinda sucks ‘cause I wanna share things now, but I know I won’t finish them once I post them).
