Any opinions on it?

(I am aware its just snippets and by no way representative of the full product)
for now theres too much (?) CGI in my opinion and i fear it'll be the same as with other big shot productions to use cgi for everything possible so they dont have to properly pay workers who might be union protected. and I'm so over that.

morfydd clark looks great tho. shes a eelcome fresh sight

Hate just about everything about it. But ever since I heard they used GoT as their big example and that one of the show runners is a Mormon I didn't have high hopes. The lore changes alone were enough for me to not want to watch it.

And I'm laughing at the dumbasses calling everyone who doesn't like what we've seen so far a racist when all the "diversity" is the classic US type that is literally black and white only.

Some people are being legitimately racist about it, but it’s really dumb to assume and accuse racism of everyone who’s not excited about it. Which is honestly the majority of people, because it looks baaaaad.

It... doesn't fit my internal image of 'elfy', but I prefer to enjoy things than otherwise so I'll watch the first episode before I have An Opinion.

(Sometimes that opinion is, 'This isn't a faithful adaptation, but still fun.') So we'll see.


Also, that Gothic pinched waist on the platemail Galadriel was wearing is delightful.

Lots of CGI is part of the deal these days so they were never going to avoid that so I don't care, it doesn't dictate if the story is any good.

Visually I like the look of things, but as it's a teaser there's very little indication of what they're doing story-wise, I might check out the first few episodes to see if I like it or not, and if I don't oh well, and if I do cool.

Ugh, yeah. Over-reliance on CGI is one of the things that ruined the Hobbit movies, IMO.

It's too soon and I've seen too little to make a judgment call, but what I've seen so far...just doesn't feel Tolkieny. When the trailers and first stills from PJ's LOTR movies came out, I really felt it. "Hell yeah, that's the Shire! That's Gandalf! That's Aragorn!" It wasn't 100% aligned with my imagination, nothing could be, but it was damn close.

This looks kind of generic to me.
