130. They got me with their pretty men too! I love bishounen, but they really got one up on me with "the purple bitch" who is not actually a woman. x_x

145. I don't think your average fan spends that much on anime. That's some hardcore otakuism right there. I think what it comes down to is extremes. It's ok to buy a doll or two, just like it's ok to buy a boxset or two. It's when people get crazy and spend their lunch money on that stuff that people go "WTF?!?"

Yeah, bored college students and the like, right? At least until they got rid of all the beer/champagne items and started to peddle their wares at Limited Too or whatever they changed the name of that store is now... (blah blah sellout/"they changed it now it sucks" rant, pardon me.)

Yeah, as a bored college student, I played. As a bored non-college student, I can't be bothered. And that whole neocash and dressing up pets thing? Final nail in the coffin for me.

Most people don't get to have such a big collection in one go, you know. Having a large collection od dvds like that doesn't necessarily mean they're starving themselves or something.

But more often than not, people DO balk at the purchase of ONE doll costing that $200-$600, but not at the purchase of 10-30 dvds costing the same.

I think it's extra odd because the resale value of the doll is maybe 10% less than what you paid, whereas I'd be lucky to get 1/4 of the money I spent on my anime dvds back, and we pretty much only buy on sale.
