106. As you go along, the storylines take up less episodes. Heck I think there were a couple two-parters. But hey, maybe you'll get used to it. ...also, on a vagueishly related note, someone should totally get an Abridged Series version of Doctor Who on YouTube.

108. I seem to recall Gaia Online has a pretty casual tavern-ish based RP board - I have fond memories of participating in a simple little HHGG thread some years back as Ford and Random. Haven't been there in ages, so it might be a total shithole now, I dunno.
A lot of message boards have RP areas of their forums too, so if you find a forum on a topic you're interested in, see what they have other than General and Fanwork boards. Sometimes the RP is based on the topic of the board, sometimes not. (Wonder if anyone from the Simpsons Fanwork Central boards remembers my utter noobdom? God I hope not.)
There's also some chat-based RPs here and there - way back when I was a noob on AOL, I found a tavern and played a raven who would hold mistletoe over peoples' heads for money. (My font was Papyrus, in purple. That's the noob part.) Depends on whether you're more interested in a message board or not though.
And I suppose I should also mention LJ's very own various dressing rooms, but if you want to play OCs, not all of them will take them.
As for characters with icy blue eyes and silver Volvos, or silver eyes and icy blue riding dragons - you get those all over. Try to find somewhere with a low degree of noob.

114. Trufax: from the cartoons, I used to ship Flash/Raven as a half-cocked crack thing, just for the fun of pairing off two of my favorite characters. Then I read the comics and was like ._.

148. Your clever plan has backfired! X3 But yeah, blame the violence on Snyder. The book didn't have any bones sticking out nor meat cleavers in guys' head (I still like the kidnapper's comic death better).
149. Sounds more like "I like these pairings but not these ones" to me, which is fairly normal.
152. Don't do it, OP. People would be going "lol elf ears" all the time and it would really suck.
too big 1. It's so they can't get shut down by some parent who decides to blame the site rather than their own lack of supervision for "OMG THEY'VE EXPOSED MY TIMMY TO SMUT!". In theory, anyway. And yeah, welcome to Sturgeon's Law: "90% of everything is crap".

there are quite a few two-parters AFAIK, especially with the earlier series. "The Rescue" and "The Romans" (both Hartnell-Era) are two-parters and both good.
