Re: musicals recs
(Anonymous) 2022-02-17 06:34 am (UTC)(link)Doesn't the first one have romance/relationships plot? I've thought it's the peace part of War&Peace.
I am a bit wary of this musical, since I hate Tolstoy with passion
Come from Away is really good. I love how fast-paced it is keeping this anxious feeling. Also staging is minimalist but really awesome and interview style works great. But it's 9/11 musical, so yeah
Re: musicals recs
(Anonymous) 2022-02-18 04:01 am (UTC)(link)Yeah re: Nat & Pierre. It's specifically looking at chapter 8 or something to that effect. Personally, I think it deals with making mistakes and forgiveness, as much as it deals with romance (and I wouldn't call it romance, I'd call it more what dies ut mean to love another? A friend? A spouse? Yourself? And to that end to fall in love).
Spoiler...
.... it's romance in the sense that a young woman lives with ruse tinted glasses and believing that she's fallen suddenly in love with a scoundrel (While she's betrothed) has to deal with the consequences of the choice her actions and how that affects those around her. The other romance subplot is the failing marriage and a man trying to come to terms with that etc etc. I get that it's not really everybody's jam, esp. if you don't like Tolstoy lol. But I'm glad I could make some suggestions!
SA /spoilers got other musicals
(Anonymous) 2022-02-18 04:06 am (UTC)(link)Honestly a few of them have romance subplots (Once Upon this Island's actions kinda get started by forbidden love; the super known "alive" song from Company deals with love -- wouldn't call it romance though)
