Not the anon you replied to, but... my guess would be that they equate an android one finds hot to a sextoy. So, presumably, one could program the desired pleasure program. Spock may be logical, but he's not a machine and would probably have logical objections to sexy times.

He's mechanical, and he's programmed in multiple techniques. Which is better than the machine in my drawer, which only has four settings and one of those is a real battery hog. I call that setting the boyfriend mode, because most of the time if finishes before I do. Anyway, Data is a machine and so are dildos.

I don’t know why people are saying this comment is rude, but maybe I’m missing something in that regard. However, this comment does make me uncomfortable, because Data is more than a sex toy. Besides the fact that he’s not even canonically equipped with anything that would make him a sex toy in the first place, androids and sex bots are different.

He may be mechanical, and unable to feel exactly the way humans do, but Data is still a sentient being with agency. And I’m just not comfortable with someone reducing him to a walking dildo. Having him be equipped with functions down there that are similar to a sex toy is a fine smutty fanfic plot, but he would still be a character with a mind of his own even then, not an inanimate object.

Maybe you feel weird because (and I say this as a casual Trek observer, so from the outside looking in) Spock is everyone's boyfriend? One of my closest friends LOVES Data, so you're definitely not alone. I think you just might feel weird because it may feel like you're supposed to like Spock (as a Trek fan).
