a) Your work is gorgeous, OP! I want to learn how to cross-stitch this year.

b) Agreed! The whole "not your mother's [crochet/sewing/whatever] annoys me too, because it's along the same lines. Some people want to cross-stitch skulls, some people want to cross-stitch flowers, some want to do both. And all of that's awesome, because it means the skill will continue to grow!
