Oh good god, comments like this are why people get so frustrated. Sometimes family isn't worth saving. Sometimes family really does suck THAT MUCH. If you can't imagine that, I'm glad you had a happier time growing up that some of us did but for some of us the only family that means anything other than 'abuse' is the family we choose, not the one we're born into.

Okay but maybe you can read the OP's actual post where they said that they personally felt like cutting off their brother was too much, and so AYRT might have been crafting a response in consideration of that sentiment?

Comments like yours are the ones I find most irritating. Not everyone is in an abuse situation. Let people tell their story before dragging your baggage all over it.
