118. I kinda like the movie ending better, too. It didn't have as much fridge logic (suddenly telepathy exists despite never being mention earlier? What?) and it made Dan a much more sympathetic character. I liked him getting pissed at Rorschach's death then fucking Laurie by the pool.

Didn't he not know about Rorchach's death in the book, though? I like to think that he didn't, or else their entire relationship is cheapened.

Yeah, he didn't know about it IIRC. Personally, I think the movie ending (as in "framing Manhattan instead of using the squid") worked better in terms of consistency, but I still think the emotional impact of the graphic novel is bigger, from Rorschach's death being more of a desolate, lonely matter, to Jon's melancholic smile when he sees Dan and Laurie together. Not to mention that we got to see people killed rather than just buildings being blown away, and that makes a difference IMO.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think I agree anyway. The pictures of all the dead people were incredibly affecting, especially when you started to pick familiar faces out of the crowd. I liked where the ending left all of the characters in the book, but I found the whole giant squid thing kind of unbelievable. I wonder which ending I'll like better after actually seeing the movie.
