118. I agree! The movie ending makes so much more sense than the comic's ending! I read it and I was like "okay ... a giant squid-thing teleports into the middle of NYC ... kills thousands if not millions of people ... and this makes the fighting stop why?"

134. You thought BSG was boring??? Are you sure it was Battlestar that you were watching, and not something else?

The only edge the squid has over Manhattan is people going "ZOMG SPACE INVADERS", whereas with Manhattan there's a chance they'll go "ZOMG USA" rather than "ZOMG MANHATTAN".

Yeah, but I totally thought that the words "accidentally teleported into our dimension" popped up on the next page somewhere. And in the movie, it was that Veidt made it look like Dr. Manhattan had done that not only in NYC, but in about 5 other cities around the world. That was what made more sense to me; that the world was up in arms and after Dr. Manhattan because he had also done that to his own country.

But even with the destruction of NYC, there will always be doubters - consider the countless 9/11 conspiracy theories that claim the government purposely instigated a war.

Of course, that just goes to show how well-received Rorschach's journal would be were it ever published.

oh, ps I'm not in the Battlestar fandom at all, but I really want to talk about the finale, and I don't know ANYONE WHO WATCHES IT.

MY BABY SAM FLEW ALL THE TECHNOLOGY INTO THE SUN.

*sniff* see you on the other side, Anders. Now Starbuck realized (finally - when you're comatose) that she did in fact love you very much. Way to be late, Starbuck.

I was SO EXCITED that I got caught up with the series literally the day before the finale.

I absolutely LOVED Sam flying all the electronics into the sun. I really do think that that was the best ending for him that they could have come up with.

The only thing that disappointed me about the ending was that Starbuck and Lee didn't get a happy ending, or even the possibility of one. :...( I mean, she just goes "okay, I'm done now," and POOF. Yeah. I really want fic of either (a) an alternate ending where she doesn't go poof, or (b) where she goes after said poof.

haha well I'm actually a big Anders fan, so I wanted him to happy living on earth with all the other lame-os seeking perfection of whatever down there. The second he got shot, my heart skipped a beat because he I realized he was going toward some sort of crazy end.

See, I'm one of those silly Anders/Starbuck shippers, so I liked that they both died and I can pretend that she now appreciates him in the ~great beyond.

I agree though, it was sad that they basically got no goodbye. Although, it really does fit perfectly with the whole theme that they were just never meant to be together. They were always attracted to each other, but even at the start, something was off, eh?

You're right, it would've been nice to see how happy he and Starbuck could be together. What I meant though, is that I was much happier to see him fly off into the sunset than have Starbuck euthanize him with her gun. : [

Yeah, I do see what you mean about Lee and Starbuck not being meant to be together. I really just wanted to see if maybe that was their personal cycle, like that of destruction and rebirth for the humans and cylons, and they could try to overcome it. But I guess we'll never know.
