I used to do this back when I first started writing fic. I came across one of my notebooks from back then and nearly died from cringing so hard, but it was a nice little reminder that I've worked hard on improving my writing (though my handwriting has gotten way shittier). These days, I use mainly my computer, but I'll write out ideas and lines of dialogue in a little notebook I carry around.

Anti-cyborg and anti-android bigotry have been a theme in science fiction since forever, both as parallels for real world bigotry and an expectation of what will almost definitely happen in the future if such living beings came to exist. Nobody should have been surprised that it was explored in this one thing (which I admit I know nothing about) let alone it happening for real. I'm willing to bet everyone who complained about it doesn't consume much in the way of fiction at all and is rather ignorant about anything that doesn't happen online.

Yes. But also a little bit of excitement. And a really good feeling overall when two of my secrets were posted one right after the other about a week ago, which was so cool! (Not to mention the fuzzy feeling when my secret was the one at the top that you see on the main F!S page for the first time!)

But despite feeling that slight twinge of anxiety, it isn’t because any of my secrets have gotten negative reactions, because everyone has been great to me and my secrets in the threads! The twinge is just because of secrets by other people I’ve seen get a negative reaction.

This, honestly.

They're fucking hideous. I am almost jealous of people who got into the book later because they get the nice Kidby covers and I'm stuck with a shelf full of grotesque bullshit.

There's under ten my blorbo/oc fics in my current fandom and in at least half of them it's only a quick mention and the fic focuses on another pairing.

Sure, but even in pwp certain authors want to include weird declarations of love so it would be better without a canon partner.

I used to when I was a student, sitting bored in the lesson theater an/or getting overwhelmed by IDEAS WRITE NOW and using the margins and the back of my textbooks.
(I don't know if it'll freak out US people less or more to know that the textbooks were free.)

Not to go all fearmongering but, with COnservatives--mostly in the US but I guss in every country--thinking "my world to rule or no world at all" can't this still lead to "better us blowing the world ourselves than them"?
