Does anybody else get a twinge of anxiety in their stomach when they see their secret posted?

Yup. Or even one that was made by someone else from a comment of mine.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-27 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-27 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I do when it's the first one.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-27 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes!

I used to back then when I did my own secrets and the post went live at a time I could see it--now I barely leave comments to the "secrets you're not going to make" threads with no expectations, and anyway these years the posts are made in the middle of the night in my timezone so when I get up in the morning the discussions are already long over so even if a secret was made from one of my comments it doesn't feel like mine anymore.

yup, all the time. I get a lot more self-aware.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
For my spicier secrets, yes.

I think it's funny, especially if they pick a goofy picture to go along with it.
pantswarrior: Edward, from FFIV, hiding. (hide!)

Oh gosh yes. A couple times it was the first secret so I was just scrolling down my flist and AAAAAAAHHHHH

And given the reaction one of my very old secrets got, I'm always afraid to look at the responses until I know I'm in a good headspace for it, since there's always the possibility that the way I worded something allows for someone to take offense. :/

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
not really no, it's more of a "yay attention!" kind of a deal for me lol

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, a spark of excitement for me.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but I don't always even read the comments on my secrets. I tend to decide beforehand whether I'm interested in arguing about the thing I'm expressing in my secret, and if the answer is no, then I just scroll right on past. I'll talk to my friends and family about the topic if I want a discussion--and sometimes I do just that.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Usually, yeah, though it depends on the secret how much so.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yuuup. I can never really judge how people will react to them. Ever since a secret I thought was very innocuous was posted and then caused a big dogpile, I'm always a bit wary. Especially when people use the absolutely worst interpretation of what I'm saying. And it's happened a couple of times since so... yup.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
I get a twinge if someone reacts in a negative manner to it, or criticizes it.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. But also a little bit of excitement. And a really good feeling overall when two of my secrets were posted one right after the other about a week ago, which was so cool! (Not to mention the fuzzy feeling when my secret was the one at the top that you see on the main F!S page for the first time!)

But despite feeling that slight twinge of anxiety, it isn’t because any of my secrets have gotten negative reactions, because everyone has been great to me and my secrets in the threads! The twinge is just because of secrets by other people I’ve seen get a negative reaction.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-28 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Sometimes I crack up at the reactions, sometimes I can't even scroll down past my secret to read the reactions (sorry secret maker!). Anxiety's a BITCH.
