The way the jacket super nips in her waist in a massively biologically inaccurate way (and different from the original design) is worse than the hair imo

Nothing there screams scam to me. Now, charity zines don't tend to actually make much money for charity, but as long as the team doesn't fall apart (always a risk lmao) it looks legit. Then again, maybe there's some more context I'm missing.

They do! I didn’t realize people were still making them until I got into a new fandom and saw so many posts for zines. The fandom skews young too, so I think that’s kinda interesting.

Yeah, nothing about the info in the screenshot screams scam. So is there something not showing that makes it 'obvious'?

They do! I bought one for my new fandom last year and it was a really nicely organised and put together project.

Yeah, I get the sense that fandom zines these days are mostly influenced by music zines, and the whole punk, DIY, indie ethos. So that kind of explains to me why it's a young-skewing thing, but it's also interesting for historical reasons.

As someone who has multiple friends working on this (like as contributors) I'd love for the secret maker to explain how it seems to be a 'scam' as I haven't seen evidence of that.
