Nothing there screams scam to me. Now, charity zines don't tend to actually make much money for charity, but as long as the team doesn't fall apart (always a risk lmao) it looks legit. Then again, maybe there's some more context I'm missing.

As someone who has multiple friends working on this (like as contributors) I'd love for the secret maker to explain how it seems to be a 'scam' as I haven't seen evidence of that.

Zines are in a lot of fandoms nowdays. So I don't see the problem. My friend has a lot of them in physical form and even made one herself. It takes a lot of time to organize and needs money to print. Some people can use them for scams, it's possible, but all zines I know just what it is - printed and/or pdf book with fanart and/ or fics

Well I mean her other option is that guy from How I Met Your Mother and I personally don't find him attractive AT ALL. Like something about him just turns my stomach, much in the same way I imagine Russell Brand turns yours (he gives me poor hygiene vibes eugh). The only guy I can vaguely remember in that move that I thought was physically attractive was one of the random guys who lived there. I'm not sure if it was Mila Kunis' ex or his cousin. Some guy. Whatever.
