That makes you worry about our society, I mean. I'll read it if someone makes that seem interesting. xD

117. Well, that's the thing isn't it? This show has religious undertones because the movies have had religious undertones as well (John Connor? Do those initials look familiar to you?). I think the reason why Ellison uses that reason is because the writers made him a religious character.
It would be nice to see something outside the obvious Biblical elements towards something that's never had to do with the Bible to begin with, but nyeh--my dad loves it for this. =P

Well, she's frequently portrayed as ~**~PERFECT~**~ which is kind of annoying, especially toward the end of season 2 (personally, I really liked Rose but think she left at the perfect time, as another season with her would have ruined it and, honestly, her return in season 4 came close enough and that was, like, three episodes). She really is a Mary Sue a lot of the time, and there was even a character that was created with the sole intent of showing how perfect Rose is.

That one dude (Adam, maybe?) they met in, I think, Dalek and ended up traveling with them for all of one episode before turning evil or whatever and getting that thing implanted in his head.

113: It's an awesome book, you should read it. I had to for school but I loved it. Lots of others really didn't get it though.

It's set in the future and it's about a fireman who's job isn't to put out fires but to start them- they are hired to burn books. Books are banned, as it pretty much thinking at all, and questioning anything. I won't tell you to much more, you should read it - or at least read the beginning, you'll probably know from the start whether you want to continue- that's how I decide on what to read! :)

To the OP: I can understand why, but I don't neccesary think we are going that way. At least I hope not. If we are it's because people are choosing to, rather than being forced to. Unfortunately so little importance is placed on knowledge and learning and thinking in some parts of society now.

It's a book that describes a world where people have stopped reading and fireman burn books, because people don't want to read (or be challenged by the thoughts in) books anymore.
